My Pink Floyd photo (above) has been published in the new French book “Pink Floyd, La Totale” (cover photo below). The 592 page book was authored by Jean-Michel Guesdon and Philippe Margotin and published by E/P/A Editions (ISBN-10: 2851208888 / ISBN-13: 978-2851208880, paperback €49,90) and comes out on September 27, 2017.

My photo appears on page 257 in the book and was taken on November 14, 1971 at Stony Brook University Gym in Stony Brook, NY when I was just 16 years old. The photos from this show were shot on slide film and I’ve only managed to scan two of them and they can both be seen here. They’re certainly not great photos but it was only the second show I ever shot and I had a very basic camera.  Nonetheless, it’s still Pink Floyd shot just as they were hitting their peak period, in front of an audience of just 600 people, using a PA system that was essentially 6.1 surround sound which was a concept unheard of at the time. They were absolutely amazing! One of the best shows I’ve ever seen and the best set I ever saw them play, far better than the Dark Side of the Moon tour a couple years later when they catapulted to fame and played in arenas.
