greg C Photographs Afro Punk Fest
On August 25th I photographed the first day of Afro Punk Fest in Commodore John Barry Park in Brooklyn, NY and will be shooting the second day today, August 26th. The first day featured performances from Erykah Badu featuring The Cannabinoids, The Memorials, Spank Rock, Alice Smith, Cerebral Ballzy, Toshi Reagon, The Oxymorrons, Sinkane, Joe Jordan’s Experiment (photo of Joe Jordan above) and many others that I didn’t shoot. Today the festival will host performances by TV On The Radio, Janelle Monae, Toro Y Moi, Reggie Watts, Body Language, Gordon Voidwell, Flatbush Zombies and many more. A select group of photos from both days of the festival will be published on Monday by Stereogum.
Over the next few days I’ll be uploading teaser photos of some of the shots Stereogum doesn’t run. On September 8th & 9th I’ll upload all the photos I took on both days of the festival to this site and my Flickr page . (Delay is due to exclusivity rights/professional courtesy.)
