BrooklynVegan Publishes Rock Lottery 4 Photos

BrooklynVegan has published my Hxmxn Pxxplx, U.W.I., Black Purple, Unicorn Choice and Stop & Frisk photos from the Rock Lottery 4 concert on December 7, 2012 at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY. See the article and photos here.

The Rock Lottery premise is simple, but effective. Twenty-five hand picked musicians meet at 10:00AM at the evenings performance venue. These volunteers are organized into five groups through a lottery-based chance selection. The five separate groups are then released to practice at different locations. The musicians have twelve hours to create a band name and three to five songs (with a one cover-song limit). The groups will then perform what they have created that evening in front of a waiting audience.

Hxmxn Pxxplx was comprised of Stuart Bogie (Superhuman Happiness / Antibalas / Fela! The Musical), Hanoi Jane (Oneida), William Kuehn (Rainer Maria / Shining Mirrors / The Prosiacs), Christian Owens (Bad Girlfriend) and Alyson Greenfield.

U.W.I. was comprised of Oliver Ackerman (A Place To Bury Strangers), James Canty (The Make-Up / Ted Leo And The Pharmacists / Nation Of Ulysses), John Stanesco (Friend Roulette), Angus Tarnawsky (Apache Beat / Devin / Ef Es Vii/2), Corey Zaloom (Riverwild).

Black Purple was comprised of Stephen Brodsky (Cave In / Mutoid Man), Zach Jaeger (Chron Turbine), Nora Lum (Awkwafina), Deron Pulley (Les Bonhommes) and Brian Viglione (Dresden Dolls / Violent Femmes).

Unicorn Choice was comprised of Andrew Koeghan (Lawrence Arabia / Lips), Christopher Todd (Sannhet), Steve Marion (Delicate Steve) and  Walter Schreifels (Quicksand / Rival Schools).

Stop & Frisk was comprised of Jeff Curtin (Small Black), Peter Hess (Balkan Beat Box / Slavic Soul Party / Barbez), Maria Minerva, Steve Myers (Afghan Whigs / Mighty Fine), Mauro Remiddi (Porcelain Raft).
